Free Fall Festival at Buffalo Thunder Casino & Resort The Free Fall Festival is a three day indoor and outdoor We will have the BIG TRAILER and be pouring beer all weekend. See you there! 7:00 - 10:00 PM MUST-SEE SHOW featuring songs from Doug's new CD "West of The Pecos" with just about every local, country/swing session player on it including Cathy Faber, Kurt Story, Jono Manson, Sharon Gilcrest, Margaret Burke, Lydia Clark, Lorianne Fiorina, Auggie, (whew!) Ollie O'Shea, Chris Hillman and many, many more. Doug grew up in Nashville listening to the Grand Old Opry and John R-developing tastes for both county and rhythm & blues. In highschool and college he played with many "soon to become famous" musicians. While in the Navy, in San Diego, he played with a now legendary bluegrass band, “The Scottsville Squirrel Barkers”. Two band members, Chris Hillman (The Byrds, Burrito Bros, Manassas, Desert Rose) and Bernie Leadon (Stone Pony, The Eagles) went on to become major influences in the folk-rock scene.
Later, back in Nashville, Doug got to know Johnny Cash and met and picked with many of the guests on Cash's TV show including Kristofferson, Bob Dylan, Linda Rondstadt, Joni Mitchell, Graham Nash, Waylon Jennings, and Larry Gatlin. In the 90's Doug discovered the Irish music scene, touring Ireland and jamming with the likes of Frankie Gavin, Eleanor Shanley and Jimmy McCarthy. In 2007 Jeffords released a CD, “Ballycotton Light” in Ireland in an effort to capture some of his Irish music experiences.
Doug now lives in Santa Fe New Mexico, where he is still pickin’, singin, writin’ and working on a new CD 6:00 - 9:00 PM New England at Miami 8:00 - 10:00 PM 8:00 - 0:00 AM MALEA McGUINNESS’ remarkable story is told through her music, with a world-class voice that has been heard on Broadway and in operas, and now the singer-songwriter brings the songs on her new album CLOSE AS AIR to life. Limited VIP tickets for front-stage seating. Prixe fixe dinner specials and regular menu available. Table-service only for this event. Tickets are limited. About Colin Hay Colin Hay’s upcoming release American Sunshine finds Hay reaching a new pinnacle in his storied career -- his songwriting honed by discipline and experience, his unmistakable voice sharpened by a seemingly unending run of sold-out performances both solo and with his band. Noticeably reinvigorated, American Sunshine is a collection of new songs boasting the timeless melodic grace and lyrical wit long associated with Hay, magnified by dynamic, uncluttered performances. For old and new fans alike, American Sunshine marks the welcomed return of an iconic pop underdog, in peak form. While Colin Hay’s voice and visage are still familiar to millions from his tenure as the charismatic frontman, principal songwriter, and lead vocalist of pop sensation Men at Work (“Down Under,” “Overkill,” “Who Can It Be Now?”), the past ten years have found him quietly re-introducing himself to new generations of fans. The frequent use of his music on soundtracks – including the hit NBC show Scrubs (on which he has also had several cameos) and the sleeper-hit soundtrack to the film Garden State – has proven the timeless appeal of his songs’ personae: quizzical, curious, cynical yet open-hearted. 7:00 - 10:00 PM Country/Swing 6:00 - 9:00 PM Tennessee at Jacksonville 7:00 - 10:00 PM Classic and original big band jazz from Santa Fe's favorite great big jazz band. $1.00 Off Growler Refills Tuesdays just got better! Although she has lived in many parts of the country, when it came time to settle down, Santa Fe called her home. "I spent many happy summers here with my grandparents as a child," recalls Paula, "I guess it's the multicultural aspect I enjoy the most. Because I come from a multicultural heritage, it was difficult to fit into many other places I have lived." Paula is of Native American ancestry as well as Irish, Dutch and German. Paula's gallery spaces are located in the famed historic El Centro building just steps from the plaza in downtown Santa Fe. "We are a little off the beaten path," says Paula. "But the people seem to find us." As a matter of fact, people seem to be magically drawn to Kiva. "People often comment that 'it feels good in here'. I try to make everyone feel comfortable and share the story of the art and artists.”
6:00 - 9:00 PM NY Giants at Dallas 7:00 - 10:00 PM The London-based band’s Shangri-La Music self-titled debut is an ambitious and affecting collection of widescreen modern pop, alive with iridescent textures and intricately created songcraft. Songs like “Hometime” and the buoyant “All Balloons” are moving and expressive, touching upon such universal themes as love and heartbreak, success and failure. As if that weren’t enough, the release comes in tandem with a full-length animated film. One eskimO’s unorthodox self-visualization only serves to add idiosyncratic color and character to a beguiling musical work already abounding with invention and emotion.
