| Small Batch Saturdays originated to give both the assistant brewers and the local homebrewing community an opportunity to be creative at the brewery. Many of us at the Santa Fe Brewing Co. started out as amateur beer lovers brewing myriad concoctions at home. In fact, the creativity and closeness with your brew that homebrewing offers is still something that many of us treasure. This shared passion has led us to forge a strong relationship with our local homebrew club, the Sangre de Cristo Craft Brewers, and to continue brewing on a small scale. After a very successful Big Brew Day in May 2009 where almost 20 homebrewers joined us at the brewery, our assistant brewers decided to continue brewing small 10-gallon batches of beer every Saturday. Members of the local homebrew club who win club competitions are invited to be guest brewers once a month. These small batch offerings turned out to be so delicious that we put them on tap in our tasting room every Saturday at 2pm. Saturday brews have included a Blueberry Porter, Cactus Stout, Pinon Brown, Rosehip Mead, Green Chile Pale, Rye Porter, and Saison and we even have a suggestion box open to the public. These special beers have attracted a following that show up every Saturday to get their pint. They are brewed in 10 gallon batches and usually disappear fast. Please join us this Saturday to celebrate the endless diversity of beer! | ![]() |
